XHiring is Twitter’s new feature that aims to streamline the job recruitment process. It is part of Twitter’s rebranding to X and its goal to become “The Everything App” alongside payments, livestreaming, and a creator economy. Now it’s a place to get hired as well.

Since Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, the platform has undergone a complete transformation. The rebranding to X marked the beginning of a new era filled with uncertainty for users and businesses alike. One thing is certain, there is no fear of moving quickly and breaking things. Let’s take a more in-depth look at X’s hiring move.

XHiring, is set to disrupt the job recruitment landscape. Aimed at verified users, this tool enables businesses to directly connect with potential candidates and streamline the recruitment process. The feature capitalizes on the vast reach and influence of X, ensuring maximum visibility for job listings while providing job seekers with direct access to opportunities.

Verified users can create detailed job listings that include videos, images, and interactive content.

For company accounts, recruiters may change the way up their social media calendars to include more content that will attract potential hires. Job seekers can interact with listings, ask questions, and engage with recruiters directly on X, creating a more personalized and immersive experience.

Like most of X’s recent changes, the conversation largely occurred on X’s own platform without the use of formal press-releases. Instead, Elon Musk waded into the comments to announce the change. Just as he announced the rebrand to “X” during a fan-driven livestream previously.

XHiring represents the next big step of X’s transformation from Twitter, and its ambition to provide a comprehensive social media ecosystem. We’ll see how quickly companies adopt these new features.

Please note: The Hiring feature is currently limited to verified organizations. These organizations are required to pay a monthly fee of $1,000 to use the job-hiring feature on the platform. You can apply here for the beta access.

After Twitter rebranded itself to X on Sunday, TikTok released a full-fledged blog introducing its latest text-only post feature.

Though some users claim they had access as early as June, the official launch happened after a month. This was a wildcard entry into the text-heavy world, considering TikTok’s bread & butter is short-form video. Is this an extra form of 1-way communication for users? Or will TikTok integrate comments into text posts to form threads of their own?

TikTok cites, ”With text posts, we’re expanding the boundaries of content creation for everyone on TikTok, giving the written creativity we’ve seen in comments, captions, and videos a dedicated space to shine.”

Previously, TikTokers could only add text to visual posts and captions. People would usually resort to sharing screenshots for text-only content.

With this feature, you can customize the text posts on TikTok. The character limit is fixed at 1000 for such posts, while video captions and comments continue to have 2200 and 150 limits, respectively.

The newly launched text-only posts on TikTok have cool features to enhance your content. You’ll be able to do the following:

  • Add fun stickers relevant to your content
  • Use tags and hashtags to connect with others and relevant topics
  • Choose background colors to make text stand out
  • Add popular trending audio or beats

Additionally, you can save your drafts for editing later or discard them if needed, just like in video or photo posts.

TikTok took the world by storm, making short-form videos the new norm, doing what Twitter couldn’t after acquiring Vine. With over a billion monthly users and 150 million in the United States, it’s clear TikTok’s fanbase never abates. From talented dancers to funny skits, everyone’s got their special bits.

Despite challenges to it’s transparency and data privacy practices, TikTok remains on top, winning users with catchy tunes and robust in-app content creation tools to gain market share.

As other platforms scramble to adapt, TikTok is seizing another opportunity. While Meta witnessed astronomical growth in the user base of Threads, reports sum up that engagement dropped by a whopping 70%! On the other hand, Twitter might lead to $4B – $20B loss in brand value after Musk’s rebranding gamble.

When users ask “can I do this on another platform I like more”; TikTok’s answer was clear “yes, come on over ?”

X’s Linda Yaccarino said the move will make X “centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking[…] powered by AI”.

The unforeseen rebranding was announced with a 3-second video, hinting at the rebranding of the infamous app, Twitter. Officially announced Jul 23, Elon leaked the move earlier during a Twitter space while he played video games.

And as the weekend came to an end, it was official. The familiar blue bird is now replaced with a stylized X. Musk tweets,  “X.com now points to twitter.com. Interim X logo goes live later today.”

Things move fast at X/Twitter. The logo was up for all to see that night.

Did you know that the logo was crowdsourced too? Here’s the story behind it.

In just a span of 24 hours, Elon Musk invited his 149 million followers on Twitter to suggest an ‘X’ logo to replace Twitter’s signature blue bird.

Later in the day on Saturday, he chose one of the designs and set it as his new profile picture. Following this, he informed his followers that he plans to use it as an interim design, adding that the design “probably changes later, certainly will be refined.”

This comes as part of Musk’s vision to transform the 17-year-old platform into an ‘everything-app’ similar to WeChat in China. This bold move is part of a broader overhaul that will see all recognizable Twitter branding and bird symbolism removed.

The newly-appointed CEO, Linda Yaccarino, shared her support and vision. She states that X is planned to be an AI-driven platform serving as an international hub for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. It will soon introduce banking and payment solutions, including audio, video, and messaging services, thus offering an all-in-one solution to its users.

The rebranding is thought to be a strategic move to counter Meta’s new Twitter rival: Threads.

Meta’s platforms are already ahead of Twitter in payments, shopping integrations and live streaming. All areas where “X” plans to expand.

It took a few more days to amp the count up to 100 million users, and Twitter was shaken for a moment. You can see that Threads piqued unusual interest during its launch week. But the trend plummeted to a sharp dip within the passing weeks.

People soon either made their comeback to Twitter or moved back to Instagram. Threads has already halved its active users in a week, says Mashable.

It seems 2024 will be a tug of war between the top social platforms. After the Threads user base decline we see a Twitter rebrand, what’s next for both companies?

Regardless of the combat, the iconic blue bird will surely be missed by netizens. It symbolized the essence of Twitter perfectly. No matter how intuitive the updated platform may be, Twitter enthusiasts will mourn the loss of their cherished blue bird.
